What happens:

After the first tab of your nested (child) tabview, the [[/tab]] tag ends the tab of the parent tabview, NOT the child tabview. So, the rest of the tabs become switched (the parent tabs move into the nested tabview, and the child tags move to the parent tabview).

It's hard to tell when there are an equal number of tabs, i.e. as this author has done - "A, B, C" and "1, 2, 3" - but note that the tabs go "A, 2, 3" in the parent tabview and "1, B, C" in the nested tabview.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Tab (nested)

I cannot answer this question - could be with CSS to display off the search fields..

BUT: a "search thru a wiki" is one of the fundamental functionalities of a wiki.

What you perhaps mean / need is a special search with some categorties switched off?
With this site (Wikidot) a lot of people who want to see the requested site (private & even closed) must have a Wikidot account. When they create an account they would only want to view the site and not edit in most cases. I am a good example of this. On my Delta Academy LV1 account I created a site in which the students can use the site i.e the forum/simple-chat, viewing the site, and for us keeping track of who uses the site: Delta Academy HW Help2. This is supposed to be an alternative for educational sites and even business sites to manage their users for free and not have to go through making a database on which they do not even know what they are doing. The best part is —- this service is free and does not have the hassle of making people create an account that they don't need.

Footnotes

1. Delta Academy LV

2. Delta Academy HW Help

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Manage Your Users

Hi,
i do not understand the advantage of such extra filter for memberships on a second account site if the standard account setup of wikidot is doing the same…

If you need a private site - which allows in the free account only 5 members ( and more in the reading only part!) then there is the difference only 5 members more in the free account type of this extra business, and they cannot comment or post or edit something ( without membership of wikidot iself ) in your site.

If you need more members you have to pay this extra account business with a monthly fee which is equal the first upgrade-costs of wikidots pro light.

And they cannot do anything on wikidot without creating their own account on wikidot also.

I see no advantage for such extra filter.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Manage Your Users

Hi this is Ethan Charge for the Delta Academy LV HW Help website and was wondering if you could create a manage your own users for for your own website module. If this could be created that would be great so we could manage our own teachers and students. For example if someone posts something it be under there name so we would not be doing a hunt on who did it. I am a student working for a still developing school. Please email me If you have any more questions.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: An Idea to add to Wikidot

I once used a CSS on my website

All elements of the CSS on any Wikidot site can be changed and therefore you have complete total control over how your site looks. So as well as dataforms and live templates, learning CSS is a good idea if you don't want to stick with the default themes or the ones on the themes site.

If you have any questions about CSS, dataforms, live templates or anything Wikidot related you can always ask questions on the community forum (http://community.wikidot.com/forum:start) where you'll get a quick and friendly response from the admins and gurus.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Quiz

Hello Rob, thanks for the tip.
Yes, I once used a CSS on my website and when the main design was changed after a few weeks everything looked different and was shifted, text size, and colours, so I had to look for another suitable format, as I did not have enough time to scratch around in the setups of the CSS. Just wanted to get my website's functionality back, a.s.a.p.
;-)

Will you be my teacher … - or can I call on you when I need help?

HAPPY YEAR 2013 to all !!

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Quiz

Peter, learning to use live templates and dataforms will open up a whole new world of Wikidot functionality to you and will be time well-spent. They are not that difficult and hugely powerful. I use them all the time for creating site-wide content management systems. Have a look at the documentation for dataforms at http://www.wikidot.com/doc:data-forms.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Quiz

Something somewhere on the site was forcing the positioning of the header in the the forum category to the left and making the header a bigger height. As I don't have time just now to find what is causing this and correct it I just changed the theme for that category in admin:css to use the default. Overall I think this theme would benefit from a change as it has been on the site for 2 years. As I want to improve the cvommunity site theme as well I will probably work on those over the winter.

Peter, I don't use the playground site (I test on one of my own sites) but it is extemely useful. However it is is not a replacement for the community site how-tos. So if you think that some of your work would fit well on the how-tos do let us know.

Forum category: General issues / Per page discussions
Forum thread: Blog (Simple, quick and easy to install & use)
